I think its important that every so often you stop and think of all the things that you do to make your partner's life easier...

this is the actual spot where the rubber hits the road when you love somebody...

what do you do to help them achieve their goals?... what do you do and what do you give of yourself in order that your partner can either become or continue to be the person that they want to be?...

this isn't little things... its big things...

in the end this is what makes a relationship special and and this is what makes the difference between a boyfreind or a girlfreind and a true life partner...

think about it... maybe you do nothing, maybe you do a lot...

maybe you never thought of it that way...

what does this have to do with Decanio?

sorry - joke. you are bringing up a subject that will be completely foreign to the majority of type a, self-concerned, insecure bike racers.

but empathy, respect and sacrifice are what make for the best relationships. you can go thru your entire life 'taking' or you can give. and its always better to give than get with those you love and care for.

(instead of a 6 hour ride, make it 5 and do some laundry?)

I don't think most bike racers are type-A. Maybe they think they are, but true type-A's don't have the capacity for sitting around playing vids, watching tv, and looking at porn that most bike racers do.

(be afraid, when i'm not losing my category races i'm out there working as a shrink)

dude, that's dead-on. ... the relationships i see that work do so because the people know eachother. they understand that things have different meaning(s) within their seperate personal narratives, and they stop for a second and make the space to understand how their actions affect the other...before they get into it..

that's pretty much all there is to it. the point is to not expect the other person to fill holes in your life(so that you can just dissapear from dealing with life) and at the same time, to look out for each other. its really that simple.
(ok, time's up, that will be a buck).

if you can get through the psychobabble (and there is alot of it), read the eden project, a jungian perspective on relationship (or something like that) by a guy named James? Hollis). it kind of lays it out there....

uh huh,

p.s., anonymous comments are weak.

I think its important that every so often you stop and think of all the things that you do to make your teammate's lives easier...

this is the actual spot where the rubber hits the road when you are on a real team...

what do you do to help them achieve their goals?... what do you do and what do you give of yourself in order that your teammates can either become or continue to be the racers that they want to be?...

this isn't little things... its big things...

in the end this is what makes a team special and and this is what makes the difference between a bunch of ass clowns racing bikes and a real pro team...

think about it... maybe you do nothing, maybe you do a lot...

maybe you never thought of it that way...

i always try to ditch my teammates instead of hanging out and feeding them. i derive some sort of sick joy out of imagining them looking for a feed and realizing they are totally screwed, while i am back at the hotel instant messaging their girlfriends (all the while pretending to be them and talking the girls into some sick sh*t).

when i do feed them i make sure to do really bad things to their bottles. if you can't hate on a teammate who can you hate on? oh by the way nate, that wasn't vanilla goo.

hey, where is trinity's number? 200 bucks is a good deal.
