Salton Sea
this is a nice site about the salton sea.. its near where i live and i drove by it on my way to san fillipe mexico where there is no war on chistmas and i can get 2 grubbin good shrimp tacos, beans and rice, and fixins for 2 dollars... on the gulf of california...
the salton sea was a dry lake bed that served as a natural overflow for the colorado river over the centuries... it was most recently filled when poorly built irrigation canals carrying water from the colorado river over ran their levies and flooded the basin...

I used to fish at the Salton Sea with my granfather when I was a kid. You should watch the movie. Semi-good rendition of a tweaker's life by Val Kilmer. Hard to believe his wife got killed by meth dealers in Riverside County.
