Didnt go so so well... A mechanical put me out on lap 2...
i got a mavic bike and it had toe clips and straps... So yeah... I just rode that to the feed zone... And changed clothes...
and then i just hung out...
i managed to get off a "creed you suck" right in his face as he rode by off the front... And then i heckled him some more every time he went by... That'll teach him to put me on his website....

Saunders..your such a dumbshit, d3 wanna be, you always have an excuse dont you, you poor piece of shit. You cant even keep a d3 contract I hear. You call yourself a pro, well nice behavior at work the on Sunday.- franky
lame...
Wow, it seems alot of people hate you. Theres still alot of love though, go E-Rok
Yeah Erik, all these guys that say bad things about you it's just cause they can't get what you get, otherwise they wouldn't say anything, they are just fucking loosers!!... and they don't have the guts to put their name there, or tell it to you in your face... I like your website !!
Luis Zamudio
Like yourself Erik, Mike Creed is a funny mofo/dude; anyone who throws a water bottle at pigeons and celebrates every time he reaches a summit of a SFGP climb deserves the best in my eyes...
the best time to tell a guy he sucks is when you're in a position where you clearly suck harder. nice work.

Haters,Haters'Haters,That guy would give his right arm to be at the startline. Hey Erik is Time going to treat you like a greek god at Interbike. Slover
that was Jackson Stewart hating.. not sure why he hates? he will be hating when zellner says Bye..Bye..to him
Why is it always the wuss bag anonymous posters who are always trying to call you out on shit Erok?? Are they pansies or what? I'm thinking, that yes, indeed, they are pansies. Unless of course it's someone you know just yanking your chain, but then again, if it was someone you knew, they would tell you. Don't let the haters get you down, even though I know they don't.
Erik, I respect your ethic as a rider, but help me out with why you got some hatin readers...are you that controversal...i mean i dont see your name smattered all over the results pages out there, so its not like your pullin off wins somewhere, so what gives, are you tough to be around on the road or what? I think you've got some potential to really build up this sport, being a good role model for other black athletes like myself especially. So are you still discovering yourself through the web site or on the road, and does that make others angry. I mean for goodness sake, lets be real, your an average D3, no better no worse, so why would someone like creed find you so threatening? Where does HIS hate stem from? I saw the post on his web site about you. Does he think that your too outspoken for someone of your skill level? You two are worlds apart on the road, so what gives with all the rhetoric between you too. Who started it? and why? and who is "franky", its not andreau us it? hmmm, just a thought. Hope your season goes well and you get a good contract for next year.
best wishes-
Greg Price "
Who cares who is anon or not, its called 1st amendment, erik is a good guy im sure, and he take the heat. im even if he knew who these riders were, whats he gonna do, get his posse on them? come'on wake up people, posting anon has nothing to do with having balls, cause there are no repercusions if your name is on it or not....dumbshits....who cares enough to register with the blog service.....its kinda like all the porn sites you guys visit with bogus registration info, who gives a shit, nobody is coming down on you cause you didn't register your real name? I think eric sometimes too, so there, hes cool sometimes too also, so there...who gives a shit, yall gonna kick my ass now, you fuckers take yourselves so seriously.

yeam someone finally said it. Erik has some idiot posters to his site. Erik, I think your a good rider, but you gotta get better posters.
ERik, do you have a contract for next year?
Yes, He is riding for a D2 Master team in Socal. He is are Star rider.
Good job erik! I know you'll make it big in the masters!
Hey Erok, saw your pic in CN, looking comfortable? yea, i bet you were, especially on lap 1 or 2!
thats some funny shit, it sounds like gregg and joe are bustin on you, in a backhanded kinda way.
you'll make a great master
slover you chineseho'bag, 'our' masters team, not are. and yes, it is time to announce the Hooked on Phonics/Chinese Ho'bag/Kodak Gallery Masters Team 2006. The Mission Statement is all about minimizing participation in the sport through hatred, and improving reading comprehension so that retired pros can become film directors.
Hey Erik,
Nice! Finally someone hates you as much as I do. But, dude seriously I wouldn't be calling you a D3 wanna be. You see I don't hold the fact of being a D3 pro very highly since just about anyone who knows how to pull a pair of spandex shorts on and wants to make below minimum wage can be one. I would say your more of a ex-euro pro wanna be...actually more of an ex-poland-france pro wanna be who lives in the desert or maybe more of... a GOOD D3 pro wanna be who win races and makes money doing it.
As for Creed I don't know what he's saying about you but, you can't hate on him cuz you know he can ride a bike and you know he's got wins on his resume and that's why he is D1, plus he keeps it real.
Anyways, I always like to close my conversations with you off with an insult and today's insult is "your a lazy unmotivated schmuck who talks alot and means well but unless it involves typing you won't lift a finger to help out" But, ehh I am sure Hamblen will get you fired up when you move back east so rock out with your you-know-what out this winter. And if you wanna do the madison with me next year give me some advanced notice.
Dee De Dee!!
i love how whenever someone bitches about anonymous posts they post under the name "dave" or "bob" like that gives them such huger nuts.
other than the first dickbag who called e a dumbshit d3 wannabe, who else has been that uncool?
I am beginning to think bike racing might not be so good for people... myah!
bike racing is not cool. it tends to draw a rather imature and unmoral person
how do you mean "imature" (sic) and "unmoral"???
i'll let it slide that it's immature and that you probably meant immoral, still, you mean to tell me that it's any better than any other competitive sport?
or is it just that most bike racers have never been exposed to other competitive sports?
and just so no one get's pissed...
love,
julius J. jones
Erok, come and pick up your preperation h from my house. Love ya lots
before i got this website i was so bored all the time.. but now i am really well entertained...
my favorite posters are jackie chan and slover... but you have to know when jackie is posting anon... sometimes he will actually post as jackson stewart though...
jackie your lady is nice.. why cant you be nice too?...
you are such a faker because you know you like me and that we re freinds.. and you even came to route for me and bahati at nationals...
you know you miss me...
Cartoon Dog or not, you've got to give props to Creed for slugging it out at SF the way he did after illness. That takes heart.
HAve an off-season bender on me Erik, you've had a good year. Don't let any fool (ahem, J-Stew)tell you otherwise.
Erik, do you have a contract for next year?
yea, its getin late man, what you got for next season.
dont yall be buggin on erik and his contract status'. aint none of yo business if he aint got a contract.
Erik,
Way to tell Creed the way it is! His head is HUGE without thinking he's actually good. You were right to do your part to keep his head limited to only "Huge" status. If he starts thinking he's all that, it will look like the Macy's Parade with those giant balloons. Besides, if he really takes your comments to heart he can watch TLC and realize that He has a commercial and you don't!
P.S. I'm pretty sure he has a ride for next year too.
-Lots of love -
Holy shit, the mavic guys don't carry a few different kinds of pedals with them? What would it take: 30-40 seconds to wrench down some pedals? That sucks.
I raised over Three thousand dollars for Tyler Hamilton. I believe. Here is the way he is going to WIN his appeal! http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/?id=2005/nelson_hamilton "Please Help out"...http://www.tylerhamiltonfoundation.org/shop24.html Slover
damn. i was sad about Katrina and that story of a six year old leading around four toddlers w/ no parents. then i saw the latest from Tyler's site. thanks for the reality check - just ordered 300 Tugboat tags. each of you will get one in the mail.
http://www.tylerhamiltonfoundation.org/shop24.html
i'm shaking my head here...
bicycle racers should not be allowed to go pro until they have college degrees and/or high school diplomas.
does tyler have a brain or is this a practical joke? maybe the blood came from his dog...
Erik,
Sell the sweatshirts I told you I'd rock one. You missed a good party Sunday. How did Monday's race go?
I didn't think about using dogs blood. Maybe I should start doing that so I can start beating you haters. This will be great to go from a chump to the big time... Come here Clifford!
- Nate
As thousands of athletes gathered beneath the early-morning skies in Marietta, Georgia, for the annual Atlanta 10K and 100K running and cycling events, Grace Fleury of the Quark cycling team expressed very ambivalent feelings toward this unique race -- sometimes referred to as “The Stampede” -- in which women make a mad 6-mile dash for their share of the lucrative $10,000 prize purse that pays 35-deep??? Erik is this a joke? I got this for Cyclingnews. If this is not a joke. There is something serious wrong with usacycling. This is why they should get rid of woman cycling...Has any one been to a good womans race??? $10,000 for 6 miles come on!!! But $10,000G could make one hell of a biniki contest!!!!!
Giro di San Francisco picture
http://www.pbase.com/chrispatterson/image/48866186
slover-
in fairness, most of the women would rather do a longer race too, but the atl deal is a novelty the promoters use. women's racing is getting better, but come on how do you expect the level to be higher when there is no $$ for them. yes d3 guys get paid crap, but the many of the women that do nrc calender are making zero salary. many only do a few races a year because they HAVE to have a full time job...all that does is water down the quality when a few traveling pros making nothing are just racing against local cat racers...$$ drive numbers which in turn helps increase the quality...at least races like atl give some folks a chance to get some exposure and make a little cash.
Slover? "10,000G's", you dumbass....that would be 100 thousand not 10 thousand as mentioned in the article. slover dont bother getting a degree to go pro, finish grade school first.
Back to the real question, where is Erik's contract for next year? I hope this is not the death of another d3.
-Joe Baum
I think that as Erik's friends, we should make a group effort to keep Erik on the road. Not with some piddly little team, we need a national effort to raise the Erik Awareness Level.(EAL)
Keep the EAL alive, and dont let him fade into oblivion.
Erik, post your resume to us all on your site and let popular opinion drive these directors selections for next year. I've already heard Beaman talking about him as it seems Erik has got some east coast early career ties or blood with the 'gators. Erik needs to be viewed as an "up and coming" still and not some dried out d3. So everyone out there, send a letter to your favorite US pro team director in favor of Eriks signing on with them. After several years in the ranks of USA cycling and UCI, you'd be amamzed at how well this works behind the scenes. Erik needs to look like the voracious scrapper that he is, that he is hungry still.
No one asked any of you if you were employed, or whether you can hold a job. How's your credit?
Does your mom still love you?
There is NOTHING quite so tacky as the mad frenzy every Sept. to find out who's still got a contract. OH, except ASKING EACH PRO RIDER DIRECTLY!
Get some class people!
Oh my god, this is the most fun I've had reading in a long time! Cyclists with good credit?? Pro cyclists with college degrees??? You guys are talking crazy talk!!! ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
Joe Baum - Back to school - it's 10,000,000 (10000x1000) not 100k, baby.
As for writing Team Directors campaigning for Saunder's future emplyment: I'm sure that TDs are gonna listen to a bunch of biking schlubs. Save the paper for writing home to mama.
Erik,
Do (did) you have a dog also? Dead or alive, please start selling tags on your website. This will be huge.
Cat tags would be acceptable also.
alright, more must be made of this... Mavic didn't have a f-ing selection of pedals for their spare bikes? You'd think with toestraps they'd give you a pair of tennis shoes to change into, also.
Erik --> are you riding with Ultegra? I gotta stop seeing pictures of you on an orange LeMond loaner, or reading about your bike crapping out. You need a hard-case to ship the bike in to prevent this stuff?
Still... Mavic... WTF?
Could everyone please stop using the term "d3" in a derogatory manner? You all know you would like to ride your bike full-time. Besides that it's "continental" now, whatever the funk that is supposed to mean.
RB
To the clueless:
Mavic has ALWAYS has toe clips / straps on the spare bikes. Always. Everyone knows this. Everyone. Except, apparently, some of you schlubs.
d3 is what it is to you, upgrade or downgrade in your eyes, it is what it is...dont think there are only a bunch of amateurs posting on here. D3 is title, not a person, it should viewed from your own perspective, people on the other hand are not titles and all deserve respect. lets keep the two seperated and not associate ourselves as one title or another.
wow! thats deep and revealing Eric. I appreciate your honesty as I have wondered about the possibility and interest in our cycling community. I been hurt alot before by guys(even some big named US pros) taking advantage of my naivity with my sexuality. look forward to the doors your opening with your other readers.
-TC
This is some freaky shit right here. how do you know that man-man love is the answer to what your feeling on the inside?
strong work Eric, your honesty is inspiring and your professionalism is commendable.
-Joe Baum
thats right, kudos to you eric, the preverbial closet door is should remain open. dont let this be "door that gets closed"...you know I think your still a jackass,
love
-Jackson
EROK_-I dont know how you have friends like this guy jackson, is he always so insulting?
I can't beleive we're all sitting here rambling for 45+ comments on a totally unrelated post. Haters and Lovers abound!
I live in Mass, anyone who wants to take the man-to-man love to the next level is welcome, as long as you don't smoke or vote republican.
Ok, now this is just getting scary.
Dude Erok,
You know I don't pack the word "preverbial" in my vocab files.
For future posing posters trying to mimic my posts you should post with a few grammatical errors as well as a few typing errors.
And then some dipshit will come by and correct it. Come on people the reason you know people aren't complete forum stalkers is the fact that they don't take the time nor care to make a professional error free post.
Erok, your lazy. We all know you don't have anything lined up for next year. And I'm not your friend. Friends watch out for each other, you only watch out for yourself.
I'm not judging, I'm just coming to the realization as to why you grabbed my asscheek when I saw you in LA... I thought you were just checking out my body fat %....
Wait,
Erik's BLACK?
And, apparently, switch freely from EriK to EriC. Just out of curiosity, do you remember your first team's (Cat 4/3) colors?
Odd that there's an erik saunders and an eric saunders that are both 50/50, both into bikes, and both post here!!
Apparently YOU remember the pink.
Why not? A fun game of who remembers Erik better... Me vs. Eric
What color was Balance Bar?
What shorts did you wear when you rode Merced for DARE a few years back?
How old were you when you won Tour de Richmond?
More later...
Sorry,
just wanted to be sure someone wasn't hijacking your blog.
That yellow and pink was, um, special. The bib shorts/HRM combo also left an interesting tan-line by the end of summer.
Carry on, I've got to get back to work!
I live in West hollywood, I thought it would be cool to have openly gay cycling team. Because, Think how cool the clothes would be!!! And all the sponsorship. Gay men have money.
So Erok when are you moving to the man/man love capital of North Carolina? Good luck in the negotiations. You deserve better than that low rent cat 2 team. Take that big Kiwi along with ya!
Erik; what type of saddle would you recommend for a gay cyclist such as myself who gets intense bottom workouts? Thanks, Robin Z.
ask eric saunders...
S-Lover,
I thought Sotheby's was an openly gay team. Don't you guys have Antony riding for you... and slover.. you are a hairdresser aren't you? and you have a therapist in your ranks?.. shoot the only thing straight on your team is N-dogg.. and well, the women he dates look like men. if it weren't for Mr. Buckley and Dean y'all would be en fuego.
who did eric race for when he won tour de richmond?
Too easy...
so who did eric race for then?
You haven't see the last few that's for sure. Plus what's so bad about batting for the same team if it pays the bills.
- N Dogg
he was race for me. Cycor Ltd. I made Eric who the guy he was now today.

Only 21 postings to go before you crack 100 comments on this thread...
Since I posted it the first time and Eric (with a c) could not chime in...
Erik was on the Signet Bank CT and 18 years old (at least in racing years). I think it was his first year on the road.
I think Matt Decanio won the 15-16 race riding with a disk on, but my memory could be failing me.
Jeeessus! I got hit "refresh" more often! Now it's 11 (well, ten, really).
Clearly I'm the only one with something better to do.
Now I'm paying attention to to see how far this'll go...
Parke- You stay out of this... I still remember your "girl bathing suit" tan lines at the James River. Yeah, I bet that was from your bibs. Who rides with bibs and no jersey anyway??
ps- 100 here we come!!
Yeah, riding for Snow Valley. Matt D used to scare the crap out of me... there was no way I could ever get past him, even on the days he wrecked.
Holy crap, the post from Felix almost just killed me!!
Are we to 100 yet?
Parker brother- You are wrong. SV didn't even exist. He rode for Monticello Velo. Keep trying.
Wading past drunken rednecks in RVA with no way of knowing that the tan on your back looks like a woman's one-peice speedo...
good times...
Anyone remember what Erik said to those annoying Miss-teen West Virginia girls at the Holiday Inn during the Tour of Charleston, W. VA (circa '93 or '94)?
MV, that's right.
Still Scary.
Are we at 100 yet?
The fat chick said "wanna get something to eat?"
Erik responded, "I think you've eaten enough".
Please at least try to challenge me.
Nearing 100.
OK Anonymous, that pretty much narrows you down to two other guys beside Erik, one of which I know should be at home NOT teaching these things to his new kiddo. Which one are you?
PS> Again, good times...
99... who gets 100?
If you haven't put two and two together yet...
Whatever thanks for the good memories.
RB over and out.
Thank god! 100 it is, now I can go home.
You take care of yourself, it's always nice to hear from you Turbo!
Erik, your trophy's on the way!

Erik posting anon for felix, thats some funny shit right there I tell you, i dont care who you are, thats some funny shit. I met felix one time a few years ago and was tryng to sell me some cycor clothing shit for my shop.....i wouldnt trust that guy any further than I could throw him. good rendition of him though. wait he was a little dude if i remember, maybe i wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him. and tings like and such...funny shit
Parke- you got no clue you ol peice of white bread.
so erik why the coming out, now of all times.
-kirby
Erik, do us a favor, only talk about dick when you thought about it and your sober...im gonna puke at the thought of this. lets all cut the dick talk out, i mean, i respect your sexual preferences and all erik, but quit pushing my head into your lap every time i open a blog.
Hey Erik, im suprised to see you doing anything but surfing Gay Porn sites. Shout me a holler and we will engage in take turn sex. You know what im talking about, unless you still like to only be on the recieving end and then get yours after by yourself while listening to celine dion. Anyway, i think i can squeeze you in (haha, a little to literal then meant) next week. Give me a call buddy.
Peace
JH
Interesting posts.
yeah seems theres lots of gays in bike racing...
...and returning to CREED. A good friend/classmate of mine from back in art school did a short documentary film on him during the prime alliance days. (i think pates in it too) Anyway, I've never met creed, but my old classmate says he's a good guy... the thing is, my classmates a hardcore switch hitter, so to speak, and from what i hear creed is like the "hot" young sex icon for that crowd...
maybe thats the tension between creed and saunders?
BUT YOU KNOW WHO REALLY FUCKING SUCKS? THE D1 CAT 1 FROM THE WEST LA LAGRANGE CLUB-
RYAN LANE.
I mean, how many bike races does this guys mommy and daddy need to fly him out to before he realizes hes slower than any up and coming cat 2, 3 or 4! And his bullshit speeches about "i've been racing cat1 since i was a junior...so hold your line!"
yeah thats great, but while his folks were carting his lazy ass around the prep-club-junior-racing-circuit in their luxury SUV, riders like myself were putting in huge miles on dirt mountain logging roads during torrential downpours in the middle of nowhere, then rolling up local races with a 30lb bike, toe clips and baggy shorts to destroy everyone...
hopefully Ryan can get his HR over 120 during the winter so he doesn't get dropped so hard next season.
Greg Wolf. What?
love it! This has officially become the socal trash-talk forum for bitter 1/2 wannabe pro racers (like myself).
Listen, I think I will take this time to defend myself. (clearing throat). Its hard to ride that fast when my ass is sore.
RL
P.S: i love my mommy and daddy so eat it
hey bro, i'm not bitter about being amature one bit. I make more money drywalling at the gallery than most d3's (well the ones not on parent payroll)
...and i still roll out to races and put the hurt on pros!
erik, your site is better than mine.
Come on out to Malibu tomorrow to the wannabe Pro ride. Oh ya, RL got a job. At least he's doing more than just dreamin'. Thanks for the Q RL.
Hey Erok. You gonna be at the show? Maybe lookin' good up on a bike at the Time booth.
- N Dogg
Whatever "Eric". You've earned those drinks, but try writing when you're sober.
Unfortunately for you I'm straight (and married) but not narrow. Many people in this thread are obviously suffering from some suppressed mixture of the opposite.
P.S. Still skinny, still whitebread...
Sorry for the multiple posts, sfter this I've got to focus on work.
I just wanted to remind you all that hate crimes are very real, and that while you are all here talking trash, joking, and using racist/sexist epithets there are human beings out there who are being brutally beaten or killed simply because someone thought they were gay, or foreign, or of color, etc.
One of my dearest friends was killed by a couple skinheads because he had a pink triangle on his bomber jacket. He was a bright guy and despite being practically abandonded by his family he had nothing but love to give the world.
So while you're all out there making jokes about this or that being gay, or your sore ass, or Erik being a fag, bear in mind that human beings are regularly and critically margnialized everyday over something you're choosing to make light of.
Homosexuality is not a scarlet letter. Grow up.
its a cycling blog. not npr
uh.. yeah... you guys are a bunch of sophomoric homophobes... and it makes me uncomfortable...
and i was already on the Signet team when i won the Tour De Richmond...
sorry eric you weren't on signet when you won tour de richmond, you were still on the pugeot.
i know what team i was on...
i was on a cannondale...
the bike i had before was a panasonic knucklehead...
i dont know what race you are thinking of...i never did a road race in richmond where i wasnt in the signet team...
