lessons on living well from the maasai is a pretty good little story about relating to other humans and enjoying and simplifying your life... it nears that big think bigger than life dramatic point at times as this woman narrates, but you get the point...
i think i learned a lot of this same stuff... and the culminating moment for me came while i was in france.. where you shake hands and greet everyone that you see in the day... and people were so able to see the beauty in everyday life...
this story reminded me how important it is for me to continue to experience life in this way...
and i think the maasai live in an arid climate...

Erik,
I went to gradschool in Kenya, the Maasai people live along the Mara/Serngeti there and my wife and I were lucky to spend several captivating nights chatting with them by campfire, usually in some awkward combination of english, swahilli, and Maasai.
I gotta say, they are very iconic but I think most of us would not want to share thier diet.
Email me if you want some more books on the life/culture/art of the Maasai. Thier beadwork is exquisite.
