The officials refuse to change the results...
Worst officiating ever in life... JL is 15th in the stage even though he is a lap down... And devon is 20 something even though he is a lap up on JL!...
laporte came and apologized... I appreciate that...
The officials ruined his race that he works hard on...
The idea that the officials have goes like this... The guys who took an illegal free lap finished.. So they did the distance and get a better time than the slackers like me who pulled their asses up off the ground and rode hard... They pulled me out...So we get 4 minutes off... Reward the cheaters... Penalize those of us who have a sense of fair play...

It was great to see you race in our downtown yesterday. To bad it didn't work out the way it was looking. The race was raced very well by your whole team and was a joy to watch.
Sorry we didn't make enough shirts....
Stillwater will be McGuire's race. You guys are based in SF. Our hills are nothing compared to those.
yeah, officiating has been wonderful at the event. i don't think they messed it up today though. a welcome change. my teammate was in your boat last night- got pulled with a lap to go and was listed as 4:40 down!?!? the canadian crashed out and was given less than 2 min off the lead group. go team hn! btw, his win today, after sitting on the break for 40km, was really something to be proud of...
I agree. Dave LaPorte has put on a wonderful event with incredible venues, but the officials have ruined this race. Somehow they were able to pull off the time trial though. Mankato was a mess and Minneapolis was all screwed up. Red Wing, no screw ups yet but I haven't seen the results either. Good luck tomorrow.
It looked really tough today, Erik. I was only watching the break from one vantage point, but Pate was pulling the break along every time I saw them--impressive. That guy is a motor. I got a few pictures of you, dude, but they suck, so I won't send them. They looked a lot better in the view-finder. What's up with the officiating--it's like bizarro-world bike racing the past couple of days. Looked for you afterward, but no dice.
Sorry to hear about the officiating mess. Just wanted to say that it was a pleasure meeting you (very briefly) at the velonews party in Philly last sunday night. I enjoy your no-bullshit view of the cycling world, and your ethics. Oh and i believe in karma, so it will come back and bite everyone in the butt.
Cheers,

so how bad was j-lo whining about the crit? as if they haven;t won enough?
what-ever
i went to milne the day after teh crit and said that i wondered if he really respected the jersey...
he rode tough on the last day...
danny pate got royally screwed...
i think that the leaders would have come back to us in that first road race if they hadnt pulled the yellow jersey group...
Heard a rumor that you might race the Rochester Twilight Crit. Ask Marty N. about official lap counts if you line up.
yo if your in t town at some point stop by and do the derby ride...wed at 5:30pm and sunday at 10am...meet at velo parking lot
i've had some bad experience with the officials in this area, and the riders from the area know they can get free laps. i chased a lead group of 12 in a circuit race with no free lap, but by the finish there were over 30 riders in the group and i was never passed! i found out later that even in the biggest races riders routinely get dropped and wait in alleys to rejoin the lead group.and the officials just look the other way.
