LA wings was the name of the LA ncl team

you cant find shit about the ncl on the net.. that shit was before the net though.. i bet it never had a website...

pittsburg power, boston banshees, tulsa cyclones, houston outlaws, san francisco (quake?), san diego, st louis, ny gotham ghosts, they had some euro teams once too... london lancers, milano forza, barcelona maybe... its hazy to me...

i found this:

Let me see if I can list the teams and their notable rider:
Miami Wave - Carl Sundquist
Houston Outlaws - Alan McCormack
Tulsa (spelled backwards = "A slut" - the riders taught us that one)
Boston Banshees- Frank and Mark McCormack
N.Y. Ghosts - Mike McCarthy?
San Diego -
L.A.Wings - Kurt Stockton
Portland Thunder - Robby Ventura
S.F. Shakers - Thurlow Rogers
Amsterdam Tigers - Pete Pieters
London Lancers
Milan Forza
Pittsburgh Power - Jeff Rutter

every team had a silly logo too...

I was on Outlaws!! For one race anyway. Used the $$ to buy a fat watch.

The cheerleaders were the best part. And half-time.
Successful Living should bring cheerleaders to fRedlands.

I remember that stuff on TV. It really was more like roller derby. I remember one team had this monster sprinter guy who looked like he was 200+ pounds and would 'tag' in late in the races for the sprints. I was too young to remember names. Carl is still around on r.b.r - he might have more info.

SF Fairies?

I knew someone would bring that.

It was, properly,
the San Francisco Ferries.

How about farm-teams from the minor leagues?
The Manassas, VA Emasculators
The Oakland, CA Strokers
The Orlando, FL Retirees
The Carver, GA Nut-sacks
The Mobile, AL Crackers

I'm not sure whether the Crackers or the Strokers would be better at the Madison.

Ahhh the NCL home of the Paul Curley Graham Miller Boom Fight

Pittsburgh also had Graham Miller, Jorg Meuller (?), Joe Papp and Clark Fisher.

Gaggioli on Portland

Phil Cable rode for someone..probably NY Ghosts

For an inerview with Mihael Ginghina talking about raciing events that sound similar to this. Though it's all new to me.

Anyone got any more definitive links for these events?
