Raleigh NRC

as soon as i got this from Duncan I told him he needed to be slightly more descriptive..

he got 6th by making the break that lapped the field... its our best result of the year... for our team its a huge deal to make to top ten in an nrc... and we did it in a breakaway too... duncan was a cat 3 last year...

so here is what he had to say about the best result of his life:

Friday night was the first race of this week-long race trip. We were all excited about the race because we just got a couple new teammates. The Raleigh Downtown Criterium is especially exciting for me because I live in Raleigh most of the year and it’s always nice to see people you know at the race and hear your name.
The team worked together well for the first time in an NRC race. We’ve really started to translate the fundamentals that we learned in early in the season in local races to these bigger ones. We were represented in most of the breaks of the night and everyone was riding aggressively. I ended up in the six-man break that would lap the field, which gave me my best result so far.
The level of communication and teamwork was impressive, at least for me. We didn’t use radios, but everyone still seemed relatively organized in the 85ish man field. When the break made it to the back of the field, Jered was waiting to bring me back up to the front and during the closing laps he, Chris, and one of our new riders Eric Bennett helped me out and kept themselves in good position for the finish.
The racing was pretty fast, but it still took us nearly two hours to complete the 80 laps. We finished the race pretty well. Jered helped keep the pace high and Tiago, Chris, and Eric finished in the top 20. Not a bad way to start our road trip. Hopefully we can keep working together and more good results.
