reading that bit about matt vs stockton/zelner/kadis on stolenunderground made me think what a dumb way to handle the whole thing that was... cover-ups and re-do's trying to avoid who matt is and what he has done...
so huge props to the big JRB for coming clean when one of his riders got caught with growth hormone... it was in a team search of hotel rooms that they found it (a team search!.. thats taking the bull by the horns)... they they could have kept it quiet but they didnt.. and then to make sure they had that stuff tested to see what it was... and then they told everyone... did it look bad for the sponsor?.. hell no!!!... it looked good for JRB and the team and the sport to have this handled in a serious, honest and transparent way...
its ok to talk about drugs and to admit that it exists... silence and avoidance of the issue isnt the answer...

Dude, DeCanio is friggin nuts. I just read that whole thing, and as as someone in pro team management myself, I would fire that dude just for being a pain in the ass, nevermind the controversial stuff on his websites. Oh yeah, was he friggin' bipolar with that shit or what????
Decanio is crazy. He says some good things that many of us, that believe doping in cycling is a big deal, agree with. But, he comes up with so much other emotional shit and false accusations that end up leading to no one wanting anything to do with him. I think it was good that he wanted to come back and make a clean approach and clean message towards cycling. It was also great for a team like KGSN to actually believe in a guy who had taken drugs in the past and was so emotionally wrapped up in bringing doping in cycling into the light. But, I totally believe that no manager in the states will really be able to deal with that guy. No matter how much he tells you he is going to be professional and responsible with his messages (peaceful protest, fact based accusations etc.) He believes amgen is the problem in cycling...I think amgen putting on a race is probably one of the best things for american cycling. What does he think that they are trying to tap that huge market of american cyclists that can afford epo? You can see it in his ramblings on his site. He is seriously struggling with some issues that no team can afford to deal with regardless if it looks bad to the sponsors or not.

As soon as I come up on that cyclist where a pro kit I am going to hammer him until he cries...then I am going to ask him for his resume....spit on it....and tell him to get a real job! And then I will go home and look over my 2005 tax information for errors.....Maybe if I have enough time....I will also play around with my GPS software....yeah.....this is going to be a great day.

I wish. It's kinda late in the game...Last year when we signed Erik it was already this time...and last year there was a little more ability to get Erik since we were on the D3 team (MT=racer/Joni=cheerleader-sponsor helper) (Ha! can you imagine?)
The last DS that I talked to about rider's for 2006 was at least 6 weeks and change ago. (Or right after Interbike)

I'm in MinneSNOWta. Not near the twin cities...but near South Dakota...Northern Prairie Plains...and we just got hit by an Alberta Clipper! I've been slipping and sliding in the snow, wind and ice on my commute to work. Luckily it's gonna warm up today and on Sunday to the high 40's. Ever ridden your bike in 12 degrees (feels like -1)? And no, I don't even want to hear about how unseasonably warm it is in the NorCal/Bay area...where it's perfect.
Hey Erik, they're actually opening a Starbucks (this is amazing news in this town...the coffee might even be too strong there and no one will drink it...but they'll like the froo froo drinks!), and I bet I can put in a good word for you? The house you can buy here would amaze you...and you and MT can race/train and dominate. Let me know if I should put in a good word!
P.S. The DS might know who you are without a resume. But there are other people involved in the process who might not...and they have the deep pockets. The DS still has final say...but a tangible piece of paper keeps things clear. Erik doesn't need a resume to tell anyone who he is...
