KB HasBeen NeedsArest Home Racin??
Yeah, sucks to be a Continetal team in the US right now. Lotsa talent, no big ride. I remember how Ofoto rocked the house every day in the first TdG. Who's steppin up in Cali? Huffy did good with a 4th yesterday. And CHorndog showed he can ride with the best. But really, what about the rest of the pack-fill?
I think ToC is just trying to showcase the mexican culture in cali. What a waste though.
Well, if you knew anything about racing or the courses this tour is using, you might have a clue.
Today's course was vicious and the field is way better than any race on US soil in the past decade. Now, if there were a few flat stages AND guys had racing in their legs, you might see some ofoto-like antics.
I won a bet that Meza would be lantern rouge on the prologue...
dont worry, they dropped out. heard they were starting a landscaping buisness in San Jose.
I think its cool that they are there and you ar e on your computer
wow rough bunch here...
The team that got the shaft in the "political" decision to put KH Home/Mexico in was the happy go-lucky bunch of Canucks on Symmetrics. With proven guys like Tuft, Wohlberg, Erker, Randell and some great young talent they really should have been there. I can guarantee they would for the most part still be there after stage 2, unlike the KB Homeboys.
Dude, D3 teams just can't hang w/ the thunder. Obvious after being there for the last 3 days.
Shit, the front break had what, two dudes that were not Pro Tour?
ToC is HUGE. Big.
a landscaping business? what kind of shit is that?
anonymous: I have a pimple on my ass that has forgotten more about racing than you'll ever know.
yo: Better phone Kodak/Sierra-Nevada. They apparently haven't gotten the message that Div III teams can't hang.
Cheers!
Kodak's firing shit off to ride w/ the big boys in their show. My boy BJM and jackson made moves...but dude. They're at 100 percent. Look at the finishes...it's unreal how badly the homies are killing it.
Oh yeah....can't wait for kadis' daily update on how the boyz are killin it too. (Kurt and jonas are doing a good job. Good for them making somethign out of nothing)
something out of nothing?... i dont know about that.. i think the riders in the team are good... its not realistic to expect that they should be able to follow the top riders in the world in february... and without a proper preparation...
looking at teh results we are talking about riders who are in the top 100 in the world who have each a palmares that not even 1 percent of riders in the world have...
in a bike race everyone is 100 percent when you make a move. thats the way it goes... i dont like the idea that this means that these guys arent good because they are going hard... in a break they all are going hard!... its a bike race.. its hard...
obviously when the world's top riders go hard there arent many riders who can follow...
hopefully we can get a situation where races like this become more normal and the level here can come up.. that way there would be less of a transition for guys in the kodak team, or colavita or the others...
but look at the results... you have only 20-30 guys racing with a big group coming in 10-20 minutes back.. there is the racing peloton and the training peloton.. and there are plenty great riders in the training peloton...
dude, most of the guys are 80% right now...even in that first group. George is 8 kilos over tour weight. shit, 4 kilos over classics weight! Yeah, levi and floyd are flying....
let's face it though...what happens when our "pros" race against real pros? They get handed. Navigators in the classics? Pack fill at best. D3 teams at tour of cali? Pack fill.
exactly.. all things being equal there are only a few top riders and when they go nobody can follow... thats why the top races in the world are held on selective courses.. so that the top riders can do their thing...
duh...
yo: Why don't you ask Stuey his opinion of Div III pros? I'm looking for the reincarnation of the MASo'M to show just how bad JJ Haedo smoked the Euro-pros. Let's also not forget Gord Fraser on the then Div III HealthNut squad handing it to everyone except Cipo, and only lost to him once.
steve...good examples...but those guys are crit racers (finishing circuits, same thing)...the "real pros" don't play that game.
Steve: 1. Gord raced in Europe, and still could if he wanted to take a huge paycut and live in a shitty hotel eating shitty food for a year, working for someone else in 95 percent of the races.
2. Every other race in america before this one was a vacation for the euro pros, including philly week and tour of georgia. Don't get me started about SF. Homeboys were shopping 20 minutes before the start. 3. JJ is da man. He'll get his shot. I'm thinking next year.
anony: Champs. Circuit race. 'nuff said. Pros are pros. They can handle their machines - a finish line is all that matters.
yo: I'll tell Tafi he was on "vacation" for that 80km solo break in TdG last year (Initiated on the hill at the end of my driveway!). I'm sure he'd have a slightly different opinion... ;)
I hear Tafi has a landscaping buisness in Italy now!
Tafi was washed up and on his way out. Georgia was his "swan song".
(Ouch, that's brutal)
