I'll share.
I rocked it once in 1998. It was at the National Sports Center Velodrome in Blaine MN during one of the Thursday race nights. I too had the kill form that night and I had three team mates also racing and they all knew I had the kill form.
I had been battling back and forth with another guy for the victory in the omnium that evening. He won a race, I won a race, back and forth, and it all came down to the points race which was the last race of the night.
I won the first points sprint and he was right on my wheel for second. Instead of sitting up after the sprint I just put my head down and floored it. For 10 laps me and this guy traded pulls every half lap until we lapped the field. We traded a few more sprints but it was all going to come down to the final double points sprint. With five laps to go my three team mates, just like professionals, went to the front. Each one of them took a pull for an entire lap, basically sprinting full out, to prevent anyone from attacking. They set me up perfectly so that, on the bell lap, I was at the front. I smoked that guy by a full bike length, winning the points race and winning the omnium. It was the best race of my life because I had these three team mates that respected my form enough to destroy themselves all for me. We still talk about that night now eight years later.
I can't believe that was 8 years ago...jesus, where did the form go? What the hell happened to me?
Thanks for making me sad Erik...
road biking is just the same as free-ride... its even better because you dont have some losers turning it into a "non-competitive sport" with big events and sponsorship... its like soul biking... you can just go out any time you like and rock... and you dont need a prize or a bunch of people to see it... you just can go rip like you want...
Last summer. DLV. Won the 20 lap scratch going off the front with 5 to go, and then beat Alfred in the keirin. We were sacry fast, and I beat him by a tire on the line.
last time I rocked it was back in my street hockey days... I scored 5 times in one game from the position of goal keeper...
maybe I'll finally rock it on the bike this year...
Going way back - 1987 - I was a first year category 2 in the whaling city stage race in New Bedford, MA. First day was a flat 50 mile road race, 7-Eleven team was there with several riders with TDF experience. I think we finished in 1.5 hours, single file the whole time. I finished in the first group and Alex Stieda won. It was a blast and I was hooked.
I was in vegas and took it through the night and in to the next day and then through the next night. No one took a pull for me. I rode that 8hit FLAT OUT like it was the last 48 hours on the planet.

i probably rocked it hardest the summer i nailed four chicks in my office. yeah, that ruled.
I rocked it at the Highland Rim Classic in TN, when I was a Cat 4. Made the selection on a sick hill and held off the pack with a few others for the remaining 35 hilly windy miles. No I didn't win but I did score my first prize money. For a rider like me, with no physical gifts, that's rockin'.
I'll be rockin' it again this summer at the Mt. Evans Hillclimb after I live and train at sea level and show up in Colorado the day before the race. Good times.
You know who did not rock it. EVER! Hamblen. Did anyone see how dumb he looked on cyclingnews?
I rocked day before yesterday driving back from California... 11 hours in a car with darling (pregnant) wife and baby, and I didn't stress out at all.
Oh, and on the bike it seems like I get 2-3 days/year that I can just kill it forever and attack over and over and it hurts, but it hurts so good... and I guess that is rocking.

i rocked a couple years ago at sommerville. it rained. i was sitting 5th wheel on bell lap going into the 3rd turn when the dickhead in front slipped on the white strip. i went down with him.. but it doesn't matter because that race was EASY that day and it felt good to just rock on a big day like that when everything comes together.
I rocked last night when I thought my dresser was a urinal.
I'm never drinking again.
