ok.. lets talk about how depressing track nats are...

there arent any spectators.. there were less than a hundred people last night... i hope that there are more people to watch the mens sprint tonight... there are a lot of good sprinters and it should be competitive...

after the points race i was looking aroung going "shit.. and then you are the national champion?"... there was nobody in the place!...

i remember in t town that the place had thousands of people out...

and even in texas there were more spectators...

what can you do?

when has LA been a good city for fans, outside of the Lakers games? there's a reason we have no pro football team and the women's pro tennis end-of-the-year championships at Staples only draws about 30 people total.

i heard also that the worlds turn out was not that good... it was mostly athletes...

I went to Worlds and it was 2500 to 3000 people during the PM sessions and the weekend but very light during the weekday AM sessions - you could sit wherever you wanted.

It's about poor promotion. I live in LA and wouldn't have even known nats were here if I didn't read this site. Which is stupid. Not the site. The piss poor promotion by USAC and the track itself.

I thought worlds had great attendance. However, it is funny that less than 100 people showed up. Remember how they pushed nats back by a week in order to coincide with some big sports festival.

Also they charge for parking.

We have been getting over 100 folks every thursday night here in Blaine with a little promotion and some great prizes for spectators...

maybe the USCF should call Josh Kadis and he can do some PR for Nats.

They did a shitty job promoting it.

There was a good turnout for the 3 UCI events they've had at Carson. Worlds was sold out several nights. They did an excellent job promoting for these events.

I had NO idea that Nats were even in LA until I saw results on cyclingnews.

I think the only people in LA who knew about nats were people who personally knew guys competing.
