guiness in the bottle sucks

thats the way it is.... i am sure that no irishman had anything to do with putting it in the bottles because they are terrible... its like a different beer... the cans are ok if you have to get your guiness from the grocery store... the king of beers is yuengling... period... cheap like miller but good... i had a miller lite and it tasted like it had the cigarette butts already in it... i though you had to put them there... but nope.. they come that way...

Chimay... if you can find it and don't mind paying a little more, it's well worth it...

i cruise this site every week or two, i keep my mouth shut most of the time, but damnit, yuenling is not good. in fact, it's bad. i even grew up in PA, not that far from Pottsville, I have every sentimental reason to like that stuff, but it's just not good. yuenling lite redefines bad beer.

at the yeunling pricepoint, the king of beers rules the land. cheaper, natty bo if you can still find it, or PBR. PBR, mmmmmm...

No one beleives me that Natty BO even exists - white can, pringles guy, nuthn' else. If you have $10 and neet a pallete of beer, Natty Bo will do.
I used to affectionally call it "yeast n' stuff".

PBR is pretty good, great if you can get it at Joe Jost's in Long Beach, where they serve it from the tap at 30-degrees F.

However, in terms of sheer out-of-the-bottle performance - no tweaks, no serving restrictions - Yuengling has never dissapointed me.

Except for the fact that the rat-fuckers don't distribute in Boston.

Capt Toenail, if I was an ass, i'd drink Yuenling. By all means, keep drinking it, encourage your friends to drink it, if you have any, I love your $ going into PA's economy.

Lame-o's from PA also think RollingRock sucks, even when it was actually brewed in PA.

Yuenling's Lord Chesterfield Ale isn't too bad, and neigher is their porter. But straight Yuenling is not good.

Rolling Rock does suck.

I do prefer the Porter to the Lager, unless I suspect I might be puking it back up later.

i like yang lang lager and black and tans.. the porter i didnt care for and it was expensive... like it was not 7 bucks for a 12er..

You want phony belgian, Ommegang brewery in Cooperstown NY is good.

Hennepin and Rare Vos are my two favs from that place.

and Yuengling is good, especially the black and tan

Aggreed on Ommegang. Also Celis White, from the brewery that started it all.

I'm actually not the biggest fan of Belgian beers, I tend to prefer the ryes and ales.

Though Pilsner Urquell is a mighty fine traditional lager.

Is sub standard Guinness better than no Guinness at all? Inquiring Irish minds want to know.

Yeungling sucks because it tries to be something more than it is: a pretty ordinary PA lager. At least PBR doesn't try to be anything other than a cheap, domestic lager. It makes me crazy when I hear fools fawn over this yeungling crap. Come on, try a real beer; try something from these guys:

BTW, Ommegang is very good.

you are missing the point of yingling.. its CHEAP maybe they charge you more for it where you are from but in NC it costs like 7 bucks for a 12 pack...

i like dos equis and newcastle but it costs twice as much and sometimes i want to drink a lot of beer thats a step up from piss chango water and its the 28th of the month...

come to Seattle and drink Mannys. you can only get it on tap, because the brewery, in the old Rainier brick warehouse, only puts it into kegs. you can get a pint across the street at jules, or the 9lb. thats real nice.

yum.
