how rich was jesus?

i stumbled accross this in my never ending quest to understand jesus...

this goes to the question that jmurder posed... i know that jesus was broke... but this other guy agrees with me...

so read it...

this is really depressing to me because i believe in this way of giving as a virtue... but i dont really do it...

there are a million socially acceptable reasons why i shouldnt go out and be christ-like...

thats what trips me out the most in all this...

nobody really expects it out of anyone...

God, the Lord, is not a respector of persons, but you're ok in my book, Erik. Straight and narrow is the way - that path is not walked by millions. Way to mix it up bro.

...give it a try...do it in secret, so only you know...the holy spirit will be with you

I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread...and so forth

I believe the church is actually Christ's bride. I believe also, because God gave free will, that he will allow it to run amuck, if it should go that way, he will just keep score and award accordingly. I believe Forrest Gump is story about God...at the end he says - blah blah "destiny", blah blah "floatin on a breeze" - one is god's choice for the path he wants your life to take, and one is your choice, but happening at the same time. I think destiny was the "your choice" and "the breeze" was God. God has the best plan for your life. In the beginning the breeze carries the feather to Forrest, that is God touching him - his is the life toughed/guided by God contrasted against Lt Dan, Kennedy, Reagan, Lennon, on their own paths. When his "blah blah days were over, it is God moving him. Just watch Forrest Gump.

"I'm not opposed to Jesus. I think Christianity is a wonderful idea. It's just a shame no one practices it."

It's a shame my wife is a little too preoccupied right now to be in on this conversation. She'd lay the smack-down.
