TIAA-Cref is dumping their team. They will still give the money to run the team next season because they still have a contract and they have to fund it but the team won't be able to use the name TIAA-Cref.

I went out to the 2006 kickoff dinner in the mandalay in vegas. They are still tiaa, but have a huge private sponsor that wants to back cycling. They'll be big money this year, but importantly are focusing on europe and competing in the big us races, but importantly, are all about developing talent.

Interesting news re: TIAA-Cref.
Back to Big Neal...So this one time in pro'bly '93, I was out riding with Erik and Big Neal out in the wilds of Goochland County... God I love that name, even better than Lynchburg. Anyway, it's hell windy and Erik keeps waffling back and forth between yelling at Neal (who doesn't ride all that much and is getting dropped) and then apologizing and saying stuff like "I should really be supporting you". The two sides of a young eriksaunders.com. Ahhh, memories.

Oh yeah and since everyone is self-promoting, I will too.

I can't remember why, but there were a few months where I would pick Big Neal up to go South of the River for rides and he and I would talk. I just remember being awed because he (like Ryan) had so much more poise and "chill" than I did. And he was younger than me.
I always just tried to say as little as possible so he wouldn't figure out that I was a shmuck.
Anyway, great to see he's doing well.

Ummm, yeah, I am posting way down here. I got food poisoning and ummm, anyway, I was catching up on what was posted. Parke, if you are talking about me, that is really weird. Because I always thought I was pretty socially inept back then. Maybe slightly less so now.
